Tallahassee Dog Obedience Club
Training you to train your dog...
Founded in 1960, the Tallahassee Dog Obedience Club (TDOC) is a member club of the
American Kennel Club. TDOC is qualified to hold AKC sanctioned matches and trials for
obedience and agility. TDOC's annual obedience trial is held the second week of
February and annual agility trial is held the last week of July.
TDOC is also a member club of the Dog Agility Competition of Florida (DACOF) and Dog
Obedience Clubs of Florida (DOCOF). Each year, during the 4th of July weekend and
Labor Day weekend, TDOC sends delegates to these exciting statewide competitions.
In addition to providing obedience and agility trials, TDOC has as a primary mission
teaching obedience classes so that all dog owners in our community can enjoy their
relationship with their dogs, and become responsible pet owners. TDOC offers a wide
range of classes that include: Puppy, Basic Manners, Manners & More, Competition
Obedience (Novice, Open, Utility) and AKC Canine Good Citizen training.
In order to showcase the benefits of a well-trained dog, TDOC members and their dogs
participate in community events throughout the year that include the Winter Festival of
Lights, Springtime Tallahassee parade, and demonstrations at summer programs for
children.
In addition to meeting new friends who share an interest in dog training, TDOC members
receive a monthly newsletter that lists all upcoming events. All members are invited to
the annual awards picnic.
